The Massachusetts Orchid Society Board of Directors believes that maintaining an easy to use, high quality library of orchid related resources is an important method of furthering one of the society's major purposes, "To preserve and extend knowledge concerning the cultivation, hybridization and uses of orchids."

At every meeting, members may borrow material from the library. The library contains over 400 books and videos, and it subscribes to 11 orchid journals.

Members in good standing may borrow up to three books - or two books and one video - and three journals. Library material is due at the meeting following the one during which it was borrowed.

To ensure wide circulation of library material, the librarian may limit the number of recently acquired books and journals that may be borrowed.
